Sheridan High Graduates Seek Next Level of Education

With a current enrollment of 970 students, Sheridan High School is the largest public high school in Sheridan County. Of Sheridan High School graduates in the last five years, on average; one-third go on to attend four-year universities and colleges; a third enroll at a two-year college; more than a quarter entered the full-time workforce or military; and three to four percent enrolled at a proprietary vocational and technical school.

Balanced Student Life

The goal of the Sheridan School District is to produce well rounded students challenged to seek the next level of their education. To help accomplish this goal, the majority of SHS students (68%) are engaged in organized extracurricular school activities. More than half of the student population work jobs during the school year, a third work more than 20 hours per week, and 16.8% obtain free or reduced fee school lunches.

Championship Caliber Athletics at Sheridan High

In the last few years the SHS “Broncs” have won state championships in basketball, golf, tennis, and drama (twice). In 2005-2006, the Sheridan school district was credited for making Sheridan one of the “100 Best Communities for Music Education in America.”
