Sheridan County School District
If you and your family are relocating to the city of Sheridan and Sheridan County, you will be pleased to know it boasts some of the finest schools in the State of Wyoming and the nation. This community is an unbeatable area to raise a family. Sheridan County District #2 includes the schools within the City of Sheridan itself: five elementary schools, a brand new junior high school, and a senior high school that graduates about 250 students each year. Consistently, Sheridan District #2 schools outperform other Wyoming schools of similar size on standardized tests and offers strong vocational and college preparatory tracks.

At the elementary level, class sizes remain small and students enjoy numerous academic and extracurricular options. The junior and high schools field strong sports teams and enjoy strong programs in the arts and vocations. Sheridan School District #1
To the south and north of District #2 lies the more rural Sheridan School District #1. Divided into the Big Horn and Tongue River areas, District #1 draws students from the towns of Big Horn, Ranchester, and Dayton, along with many who reside in the county. With its two elementary, middle, and high schools, Sheridan District #1 graduates a total of about 75 students per year and maintains one of the highest averages of standardized test scores in Wyoming.
